The Department of Immunohematology & Blood Transfusion at Bharati Hospital, Pune, operates a fully licensed, NABH-accredited Blood Centre equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. Located on the first floor of the hospital, the department plays a critical role in supporting a wide range of surgical, medical, and emergency care units through timely and safe blood and component delivery. The centre is certified by DGCI and FDA and adheres to the highest national standards for transfusion safety.
Our blood bank maintains rigorous quality protocols and advanced immunohematology and apheresis testing, ensuring optimal support for patient care. From voluntary donor collection and therapeutic phlebotomy to advanced procedures like red cell exchange and stem cell harvest, the department delivers integrated transfusion solutions.

Pre-donation counselling and check-up: 10–15 mins.
Donation: 10–12 mins.
Post-donation rest and refreshments: 10–15 mins.

Every unit is tested for HIV, Hepatitis B and C, Syphilis, Malaria, and blood grouping.
